Adding adsense to Movabletype?

OK, let's ,make this short and sweet, and easy to understand, I will give you the basic idea, mind you I don't know a lick about code, so you can tweak this if you do

So lets use www.theidiotfactory.com as an example, this is another one of my blogs I am starting just for the heck of it.

In order to place ad-sense into the blog you need to go to the main menu of your blog control panel, select template!  here you will see a list of items that looks like this!

When do I, and when should you post?

I have been researching the art of bogging for many years now.  This is really my first serious attempt to start a biog that's really worth reading.

Having said that, I only plan on posting when I have something worth while to say.

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle the obstacles and strategies involved in creating a blog, and possibly a profitable one at that.

I spent a long time trying to figure out how to incorporate ad-sense into my MOVABLETYPE blog last night, Movable type is not as intuitive as blogger for these type of matters

I am working on a tutorial that will make this feel easy for even the newest blogger, without having any programming knowledge whatsoever, look for my tutorial in the next couple days.

Wait a minute, maybe I should actually write a blog explaining what adsense is first, let me know!

What am I doing here?

Recently I have found myself with some extra time on my hands.  I work about ten hours a day, and put all I have into my job, but at night I am extremely bored.  I love to create, play guitar, whatever.

I have decided to embark on a new experiment and was hoping some of you would come along for the ride!

I have been interested in starting a blog for several years.  I would love to be able to create a new stream of income, but don't know where to start!  My plan is to suceed in creating a blog that can sustain itself with a steady income, and maybe a little extra.

I Know that many of you are in the same situation! Not knowing where to start or where to go, because everytime you read a blog about blogging it's so advanced.  This is where I will come in!  I plan on showing noobies step by step how to set up a blog, Where to get a blog, and how to get traffic!

I myself am no expert and welcome the advice of others!

My next post will be a detailed summary of how I started this particular blog, purchasing domains. hosting, the many choices that are out there and when to use which tool.

 See you soon,

Carl

Getting a blog!

There are many differnt places you can go to get a blog site!, literally hundreds!  I would say that Movable Type, Blogger, and Wordpress are probably the big 3.

Each of these has their advantages and disadvantages.  Blogger is definately the most intuative, easy to use, easy to apply ads and get started.  The other two are a bit harder to get used to, Movable type took me about an hour to really get started but there is a lot to learn.  If you do a google search on blog sites you will find millions of results, that can be hard to shift through so I have made it a little easier

FREE OR PAID?

You have the choice of getting a free site or paid site, Usually free sites come with annoying ads on them, not always, blogger is pretty good.  The reason I paid is so that I can have the domain name of my choice.  For example I paid to have www.bloggsense.com, if I had opted for a free site with blogger the adress would have been www.blogger.bloggsense.com. that's a little wordy, and you would probably never get any type in traffic. (It is said that 15% of people actually type adress names into the navigation bar when they are looking for something rather than searching.  In other words, a good domain name is quit important, yahoo has a cool search tool that lets you search domains, just type Yahoo domains on google and you will see!

It's getting late, any questions are welcome, this was brief because I'm assuming most people already know this but I am more than willing to explain!
